Because in fact, the most important thing in any travel with small children is the stroller, both for the child and for the one who pushes it. Travelling with a large stroller that you normally use at home is unnecessary and inconvenient – it doesn’t meet the dimensions of hand luggage, you can’t take it on board a plane. So you either have to check it in at the oversized baggage counter (where you risk damage) or fold it in front of the aircraft door (where other passengers crowd you, there’s nowhere to put the baby, etc.). Unless you have a good quality (certified) padded transport cover, the airline is generally not liable in case of damage. In either case, you will have to manage without the stroller until baggage claim at the destination airport. And there you pick up the stroller either on the belt between the suitcases or at the oversized baggage counter – which is the last to be unloaded from the plane, so you’ll have to wait with your baby in your arms… In addition, in seaside destinations it’s often not comfortable to travel with a large stroller – there are narrow sidewalks, lampposts, parked cars, frequent stairs, etc., so you have to carry the stroller more often than at home. And then every kilo counts.
Use the booking system to reserve your stroller, including pick-up and drop-off times. Collection and return between 22:00 and 06:00 is at an additional cost of 15 €. The rental time is per day. – The stroller is picked up and returned at our home in Prague 6, about eight minutes by car from the airport, or twenty minutes by public transport. I will contact you by phone the day before picking up the stroller, and send you a photo of the stroller to make sure it is ready for you. And all you have to do is arrive On the spot 😊, you make a cash deposit, we sign the rental contract, you take the invoice and I teach you how to fold and unfold the stroller and explain everything that is important. A matter of ten minutes.
The stroller you are renting from me is the size of most airlines’ carry-on luggage. Only the Babyzen Yoyo is truly certified as a cabin stroller. If you have a large carry-on bag purchased (e.g. on Ryanair you need to purchase) in your ticket fare, this should not be a problem. But it may be that there is already too much luggage on the plane, or the cabin crew don’t have their day and won’t take your stroller on board (it’s their right). Therefore, I recommend the following…
If this happens, put the strollerin its transport bagand insist on labelling it (as well as your luggage on the counter) so that it can be traced if lost. When you arrive, you will find it either at the gate, on the belt between your other luggage or on the oversized baggage counter. Check the stroller and transport bag. Report any damage immediately to the appropriate counter so that you can claim compensation. I cannot and will not claim for you.
Based on my travel experience, there are some tips: board the plane first (as long as the mood is good and the overhead compartments are empty), pack the stroller in your bag before you stand in line for ticket and ID check before the jetwalk (so that the airport staff doesn’t see the stroller), don’t draw unnecessary attention to it (maybe even throw a sweatshirt over the stroller logo on the carry-on bag – or we can arrange to rent a discreet carry-on bag for the stroller without the logo), don’t carry too much extra luggage, put the baby in the arms of other adult travelling with you, and just get on the plane.
Yes, but I appreciate if you treat the stroller with care to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. E.g. don’t ride with it on sand (it doesn’t go anyway and sand gets into the wheel bearings), don’t stack the stroller on a rough surface where it could scratch, respect the maximum load capacity of the stroller, etc.
Normal dirt from using is expected. Of course, I appreciate it if you clean the stroller lightly (e.g. with a damp cloth) before returning it. It is OK if you return the stroller with sand, crumbs, etc. If your child is used to eating in the stroller, I recommend that you also arrange to borrow a mat to prevent stains on the covers. Any other significant wear of the stroller is dealt with in the stroller rental terms and conditions, which you must agree to before renting the stroller.
Before each stroller rental I wash the fabrics, dry them, iron them, check the folding mechanism of the stroller, disassemble the wheels and clean their bearings – they are always ready in working condition. The strollers are of such high quality that a „breakage by wear and tear“ situation is unlikely. Should this situation arise, it is dealt with by the terms of the stroller hire, which you must agree to before hiring the stroller.
In this extreme case, we will follow the terms and conditions of the stroller rental, which you must agree to before hiring the stroller. You will recover compensation from the airline or through your travel insurance.
You return the stroller at the agreed hour to the same place as when you picked it up (for the record – pick up and return between 22:00 and 06:00 is an extra charge of 15 €). I will inspect the stroller and assess its condition. If everything is fine, which in the vast majority of cases it is, I will refund your deposit and that’s all. If there is a significant dammage to the stroller, we will follow the terms and conditions of the hire, which you must agree to before hiring the pushchair.
I will be glad for a review on Google or if you send me a photo from your vacation, which I will publish (with your consent) on this website… orif you tell your friends about my services or rent a stroller again 😊
